It's been a while since my last blog, I have kept meaning to add a new post but you know how time flies.
I have been busy with work and catching up with family recently and so I have only just started to get back into my artwork. In September I painted my friends nursery with beautiful murals specially picked by the proud parents to be.
Last week I created some beautiful bright coloured sculpture art and once painted and mounted I will add these to my sculpture collection.
I have some exciting new ideas for Game Of Thrones inspired paintings, these should be ready in time for Christmas, if you know any GOT fans who would love an original piece of artwork watch this space.
I hope you are all looking forward to the Autumn season and the rich vibrant colours this beautiful time of year brings.
I won't leave it so long until my next post take care until then.
It's been 3 years this month since I launched artbyhew and I am happy to say that the support I continually receive is still wonderful. Charity partnerships and donations from art sales and auctions continue to help many wonderful organisations.
I'm not sure if you all feel the same way but the last 6 months has flown and I have to admit I haven't been able to spend much time creating artwork or sculpture.
I have a couple of months off work for the summer and I am really looking forward to the break and most importantly spending time doing the things I love with my family, friends and art materials.
My brother and family are over from Australia for the whole of the summer and I am very lucky to take a break from work and plan fun things with my nieces and nephew.
I have a list as long as my arm of paintings and sculptures I want to produce before the end of 2017 so I best get a wriggle on.
Photo throwback to when I spent time dabbling with watercolours from my favourite children books.
Catch up again soon, take care.
2016 seems to have whizzed by and I am grateful that I continue to be very busy with painting and commission orders.
Due to how busy orders are I have cut back on commission paintings, I will be taking a few for 2017 but these will be limited as they have been this year, so please contact me as soon as you can to secure a future commission date.
I'm finishing off a collection of elephant paintings for The David Sheldrick Trust and I have also been working on sketches for my Bella & Bo childrens chapter book.
This year I have added some really cute hand made Christmas decorations and sculptures to my collections.
To make searching easier I have also updated my homepage with a Christmas Themed collection page and a Special Offers Themed collection page which is full of sale items to help a little towards your Christmas shopping.
I will post another blog around Christmas time have a wonderful rest of the year. Take care.
It feels amazing to have just celebrated artbyhew's 2nd anniversary. Together we have helped alot of charities and I continue to be overwhelmed by the support I receive.
Commissions are very busy at the moment so please get in touch if you want to secure a date for a special gift. I will post photos of my new paintings as soon as the customers have received them and give me the go ahead to publish.
I am having a break from the 22nd July until the 28th July so orders may take a little while longer to reach you.
I have launched a new sculpture range and will continue to add more items to this collection over the summer, I'm really enjoying working in this new media.
A new elephant painting will be published next year the original will be donated to the David Sheldrick Trust to raise money for their charity and limited edition prints will be available on my website. Hopefully the money raised will equal or surpass that raised for Born Free last year from the Cecil painting I completed.
Have a great summer everyone, speak soon.
March was a windy one and I thought Spring had sprung, until we had a flurry of snow this morning and this afternoon in the U.K.
I have been taking photographs of beautiful daffodils and blueblues to inspire some miniature Spring watercolours. I hope they survive this cold spell.
I'm busy working on three commissions at the moment, two miniature watercolours, a group cat pet portrait and a solo cat pet portrait. Busy times ahead this year I predict.
Very excited to still be busy almost 2 years into my art venture.
I will post some photographs of my completed commissions when they are finished.
A new feature I am hoping to add to my website this year is a review tab so that all my wonderful customers can rate my service, gallery, paintings and this will post onto my site automatically. Very excited to have this addtional feature.
I better get back to my commissions, bye for now, take care.
Easter is just around the corner and timings for my deliveries will be a little longer over the Easter weekend. Normal delivery times will resume on the 30.03.16.
I've recently finished a commission painting of a beautiful horse and will post photographs in the next few days once the commission has been given to the birthday girl.
I am practicing my watercolour sketching at the moment in preparation for illustrating my Bella and Bo storybook.
I will add my illustrations on my social media accounts; Facebook, Twitter & Instagram just search artbyhew and you will find me.
Have a fantastic Easter weekend, have fun whatever you do and take care.
Thank you to everyone who invested in a unique piece of artwork for your Valentines. Hope you all enjoyed the celebrations however you spent the day and evening.
I'm putting the finishing touches on a beautiful pet portrait and will post photographs as soon as the customer has received it. I have commission orders until May please call or message me to book a completion date, this can be secured with a small deposit.
I have changed my delivery slots to despatched within 5 days of placing your order to give a little more time to prepare your precious purchases. If you need anything sooner please contact me by phone or email and I can let you know how quickly your order can be despatched.
I'm having fun creating miniature paintings of popular breeds in readiness for dog shows, dog charities and so far the feedback has been fabulous thanks to everyone who has sent me their comments.
Until next month have a great few weeks and please be sure to contact me if there is anything you want to ask.
Bye for now.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year and welcome back to my blog. I am now open for business as usual, delivery times are back to normal - weather permitting.
Is now the time to invest your Christmas money in a truly unique piece of artwork? Remember you will automatically help charities when you buy an original or a print of my work, whatever piece you choose.
Over Christmas and New Year I had a complete break ensuring I am re-energised and re-focused for 2016. At this very moment I am reviewing and updating my Business Plan and creating a Communication Strategy... very impressive considering all I want to do is get my paint brushes out.
As part of my Communication Strategy I will definitely focus on updating my blog more frequently, set up a robust messaging system to all those who have kindly subscribed to my mailing list. I would also love to grow my Facebook, Instagram and Google+ followers - as Twitter is remarkably ahead of all the rest with just under 7000 followers - amazing thank you everyone who is following me I am overwhelmed.
I have some exciting plans for 2016... briefly these include; working with more charities and visiting some amazing animal sanctuaries around the UK, exploring how together we can help raise money through art, preparing for dog and horse shows - in the next 2 -3 years I would love a stand at the Crufts so watch this space, have more of my work featured on wonderful charity websites, exhibit in galleries, shops, pubs, cafes and perhaps even organise an exhibition of my own! All of which will enable me to connect and meet colleagues, potential collectors and share my aspirations for the future.
I am super excited about what 2016 will bring and wish you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year - may all your dreams (& mine) come true.
Thank you in advance for all of your support during 2016 you are all wonderful.
Firstly I want to thank each and everyone of you for your continued support it really means the world to me and I wouldn't have continued with my venture if it wasn't for you. So a big big 'Thank You'.
2015 has been an extremely rewarding and successful year with many highlights which I will take a moment to summarise. I think for me the most important achievements have been working with wonderful charities.
Earlier in the year 'Mufasa', my lion portrait, was promoted and gained a huge amount of attention through social media, this was due to the amazing 'Animals Defenders International' (ADI) charity who used their social pages to show my work. They continue to cheer lead my art and I, with your help, continue to make donations through the sales of 'Mufasa' limited edition prints.
'International Otter Survival Fund' (IOSF) then featured me as one of their artists in their online ottershop - www.ottershop.co.uk. My 'Utterly Otterly' painting can be found in the Quality Artwork section.
Later in the year a tragic story hit the headlines when the stunning lion 'Cecil' was hunted down and tragically killed. I like most people were heartbroken. I reached out to Bornfree with a painting I had completed of 'Cecil'. The reaction and support I received was out of this world. With your help in a short space of time we had raised £250 from the sale of limited edition prints. The original painting was auctioned at a Bornfree event in London and raised even more money for this wonderful organisation. The sales of 'Cecil' miniature prints continue to do well so even more money will be raised during 2016. If this wasn't enough I now feature as an artist on The Bornfree website and has a column dedicated to my artwork in the Bornfree magazine. I even received a beautiful Christmas Card from the marketing manager.
I can't even begin to explain how rewarding it is to create something which so many people love and want in their homes, together with raising much needed money for the organisations which help wildlife and other worthy causes.
2016 for me will definitely centre around building more partnerships with charities, visiting the sanctuaries and the organisations headquarters to really focus more time and energy in helping others in whatever way I can.
I also continued to paint beautiful portraits on a commission basis and now they have been given as Christmas gifts I will start to update my website and social media sites with the paintings I completed. I will be taking orders throughout 2016 so please ensure you reserve your completion date with a £50 deposit.
I became an international artist with many sales of original paintings and signed limited edition prints being shipped off globally to all four corners of the world. I have quite a few followers from Australia and America and even sold a print to someone who lives on 5th Avenue.
None of this would be possible without your continued support and contribution so I hope you continue to follow me in 2016 and when you can please support charities and raise your own and others awareness about world issues and what we can all do together to help.
Thank you and best wishes for Christmas 2015.
Thank you so much for your support and orders so far. I have been particularly busy this year and so the last orders I will get ready for Christmas delivery are those places by close of play today - 16th December 2015.
I will be on holiday between 16.12.15 and 05.01.16 and so the usual delivery time of 3 - 5 working days will be changed to 5 - 10 working days, I will message you with an approximate dispatch and delivery date if you do place any orders so you know when to expect your picture to arrive.
It's never that time of year already.... where has the time gone.
I absolutely love this time of year, although since starting my art business it is a little busier than usual.
If you are stuck for a gift idea why not invest in a special painting or print for a friend or family member there's lots of choice. To make shopping easier I have created a special Christmas Gift Idea gallery with hand picked pictures which would make fabulous Christmas gifts just visit -
Don't forget to check out the product description details for more information about charities we will help together (depending on your selection).
The 19th December is the last date for 2nd class delivery, so ensure you have your orders placed in time. Please allow me 2 working days to get the orders ready.

I'm thrilled to have received so many commission orders again this year and that my little miniature paintings and prints are so popular. Thank you for your ongoing support it means a lot.
I am currently working on a stunning painting and cannot wait to send it to it's new home. I have really loved working on it, I hope they love it too.
Happy December Everyone
The killing of Cecil the lion ( c. 2002 – 1 July 2015) caused global outrage and I was personally extremely upset and angry. Cecil was a male Southwest African lion (Panthera leo bleyenberghi) he lived primarily in the Hwange National Park in Matabeleland North, Zimbabwe. He was lured out of the safety of the park, maimed then tracked for approximately 40 hours until the American dentist Palmer caught up with him and killed him.
I decided to paint a portrait of Cecil as a tribute and donated this to the Born Free Foundation so they could raise money through an auction and save animals in Cecil's name. They loved the painting so much we decided to make 25 limited edition prints with a mount surround size 11" x 14". I donate £10 from each sale to their wonderful organisation.
I could not have prepared for the overwhelming response I received. Together we will have raised £300 in less than a month which is absolutely fantastic. Only 3 limited prints are left so please don't delay if you would like one as no more 11" x 14" prints will be produced.
I am absolutely thrilled and honoured to be working in Partnership with the Born Free Foundation and hope to continue this wonderful partnership, so please watch this space for more tribute paintings.
Together we can ensure good comes from evil and that animals like Cecil do not die in vain. RIP Cecil (c. 2002 - 1 July 2015).
Several of my original paintings will be on exhibition at Sutton Coldfield Town Hall from Monday 2nd November until Saturday 14th November.
The exhibition has been arranged by Sutton Coldfield Society Of Artists and there are some stunning pieces of artwork and sculpture on display handmade by the societies members.
Please pop in if you can it's definitely worth a visit and you never know you may find someone an extra special Christmas gift.
If you would like to learn more about the society or to join please visit -

As always thank you so much for your ongoing support you are all super stars.
Bye for now, take care.
I will be exhibiting in the Cornbow from the 31.08.15 - 13.09.15.
If you are local to Halesowen why not pop in and have a look. There are plenty of other shops too and places to go near Halesowen such as Clent Hills.
Here's the link with more details about the shopping centre http://www.cornbow.co.uk/
Here's a link for places to go http://www.neverbebored.co.uk/things_to_do_in_halesowen.html
Thank you Cornbow for supporting local artists, keep up the good work.
I've spent some time updating my website and hope you find it easier to use and better visually.
I thought the dark background would set off my paintings and the collection categories should make it easier for you to find what you are looking for.
The details remain the same with some slight pricing adjustments and over the next few weeks I will invest in a good camera and add some better quality photographs of my work.
If you have any feedback pop me a message.
I'm exhibiting in the Artwork Cafe in Edgbaston until 26.07.15. It's a wonderful bohemian space and I think it's fabulous they are supporting artists by exhibiting and selling artwork.
My collection looks great and I'm hoping everyone who visits feels the same. Here's the link for more information about the cafe - http://www.artworkcafe.co.uk/
If you would like to visit here's the address - 11 Templefield Square, Wheeleys Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham, B15 2LJ
During May I exhibited for the first time with Sutton Coldfield Society Of Artists. 6 pieces of my artwork were on show in Sutton Coldfield Town Hall. I was honoured to receive two awards - Best Animal Portrait for my lion painting of 'Mufasa' and Highly Commended Flora for my flower painting of 'Pink Petal'
Sutton Coldfield Observer wrote an article about the event and featured the award winners, here's the link for more information
I'm looking forward to working more closely with the society and exhibiting in future shows. Let's hope I can add more awards to my collection.
Bye for now, take care.
I have some wonderful news....
I am absolutely thrilled to announce that Lichfield Cathedral Shop will be stocking my signed limited edition prints of Lichfield Cathedral.
I hope this will be the start of a wonderful business relationship and I am excited about the visitors reactions to my illustrative artwork.
For more information about the shop here's the link to their webpage http://www.lichfield-cathedral.org/shop
If you would like to visit the shop here's the address No. 9 The Close, Lichfield, WS13 7LD
I have been experimenting with my style over the last few weeks and hope you enjoy my new pieces. The original artwork is smaller than my fine art and usually measures 6" x 4".
I am using an expressive and illustrative approach - so far I am pleased with how these are developing and I am looking forward to painting subject matters a little outside of my comfort zone.
I am currently on the search for exhibitions and fairs that I feel will best represent and promote my work, I will keep you posted on where I will be as soon as they are confirmed.
2014 what a year, overwhelmed by the support shown by many friends and family members... you know who you are.
in awe that people love my work so much and trust me to capture their loved ones on canvas, each day bringing with it a new challenge. I have learnt more about painting, advertising and planning in the past 12 months than I ever thought possible. I couldn't leave 2014 behind without saying a special thanks to Lionark who have been an amazing charity to support and have helped raise awareness of my artwork with amazing posts.
I always find saying goodbye to a year brings with it a sense of sadness but with that said......
Hello 2015.... January will be filled with planning, organising and marketing for me, so if I go a little quiet from time to time I apologise.
I will be attending shows, fairs and other events and will add a blog with my schedule once I have completed it later this month. I continue to take commission bookings for 2015 and plan to paint a beautiful wildlife and portrait piece during January to add to my collections.
Wishing you all a healthy, happy and successful 2015.
Well the big day is almost here, it's time (or nearly time) to relax and enjoy the seasonal festivities.
Thanks to everyone who has purchased a piece of my artwork, limited print and / or commissioned a special painting. I have loved working with each and every one of you and I feel privileged to have been asked to complete your commissions for loved ones and friends.
It has been amazing working with charities and supporting wonderful organisations trying to make a difference in the world, if you have purchased a piece of artwork then you have all been a part of this so thank you.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
I've been busy completing lovely commission paintings ready for Christmas. I will post some photographs once the customers have given me the thumbs up to do so.
I have been fully booked for a while now but I have slots available in the New Year...commissions make lovely all year round gifts perhaps for Valentines, Anniversaries, Birthdays, Wedding Presents, Office Space or just as a treat for yourself.

I love Christmas so it's great preparing my Christmas collection, I have used block print etched style and used the winter / Christmas theme for inspiration.
As you know already I love animals so there are lots of animals and birds featuring in the collection. The pieces are much smaller than my usual work but I think they are really cute in their mounts, I will post some pictures. The frames should arrive in the next 2 weeks and I will post more pictures of them framed.
I am trying to decide whether to produce some cards from the artwork..... perhaps I will ask a supplier to produce a run of 10 of each card and find out what you all think of them.
Not long now until all of the Christmas events will kick off, waiting on confirmation from a couple of the venues. I will post an events list on my next blog. N
ice chatting but I better get back to the easel! take care.
I am very excited to announce my signed limited edition 11" x 14" framed and mounted prints are being sold through Laura Elizabeth Crafts from 23-Oct-14.

Doesn't time fly when you're having fun! I can't believe it has been just over a month since I launched my business and website.
Leo and Horsing Around look wonderful hanging in the Weston Park gallery - there are still limited edition prints available for both paintings so pop your orders in and get your signed copy before they sell out... feeling hopeful.
I had a lovely break in Ibiza last week and I have taken some gorgeous sunset photographs - looking forward to painting those and adding them to my 'Party On The Beach' collection.
Together we can donate more money to the Amy Winehouse Foundation. 'Life Is A Beautiful Sunset' has been very popular thanks to everyone who has purchased a limited edition print so far, lets hope the rest of the collection is just as popular.
I've just finished painting a beautiful Persian cat for a commission - I will post a picture soon, so watch this space.
Bye for now and take care.
What a great first week - lots going on, lots of visitors and orders placed - more than I ever imagined for my first week. Reactions continue to be positive and the support continues to amaze me.
